all his provisions!

February 22, 2007: Grandparents Day (photos)
Rincon Mountain Presbyterian Church graciously hosted the grandparents
and students and teachers of Alethia Academy on Wednesday, February
22, 2007.
This was the second First Annual Grandparents Day, as the first
was canceled due to an unusual ice and snow storm in Tucson two
weeks ago.
We were in all about forty in attendance. An excellent breakfast
prepared by Betsy Dunlap and Melissa Hamilton. Signs by Betsy
also graced the tables. As the grandparents and children ate and
fellowshipped together, the sense of thanks and gratitude was
evident. Dr. Askew, our invited speaker and ex officio member
of the board at Alethia, spoke passionately about why Alethia
Academy is important and how we are laying the groundwork, if
it is necessary, for hundreds of years to come. We should not
"despise the day of small things" but by faith continue
to build for the future. He also asked the people in attendance
to consider supporting the school financially in these early years.
Following the presentation by Dr. Askew, those in attendance were
treated to presentations from each class, samples of their in-class
studies, and preparations (to great effect). The Kindergarteners
were really cute. Ryan Reilly
translated a paragraph of Latin to the amazement of all. The grandparents
were invited to the Kindergarten classroom after the presentations
to see their special work which could not be brought up to the
auditorium.
A round of applause was offered for the teachers as one of the
grandparents, Bob Reilly, stood and gave a moving testimony of
thanks for all the hard work and sacrifice that is being given.
"The results show," he said.
Please join us in giving thanks to God for His blessing on our
school and pray that, indeed, the finances necessary to both finish
the year and to be on firm footing for the coming years will be
provided by our Generous God!
February 2007: Sabino Canyon (photos)
Alethia took a field trip to Sabino Canyon. It was a beatutiful
day for a hike! We took the tram into the canyon and hiked back.
Mr. Richards' class was on the lookout for birds that they have
been studying in school. It was a great day.
Februay 2007: University of Arizona (photos)
Alethia Academy took a fieldtrip to the University of Arizona
to watch Mercury pass in front of the sun.
The planetarium has a mineral museum in the basement.
